Early Years Centres in Singapore
What Is an Early Years Centre in Singapore?
An Early Years Centre, commonly known as an EYC, provides preschool care and learning experiences for children from two months to four years old. Under the MOE Kindergarten–EYC partnership, selected centres operated by E-Bridge and other appointed preschool operators work with a nearby MOE Kindergarten to support a continuous preschool journey from infancy through Kindergarten 2.
Eligible Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident children enrolled in an EYC by 31 January of their Nursery 2 year are offered a Kindergarten 1 place at the partner MOE Kindergarten when they register through the EYC admission process. This arrangement gives children greater continuity as they move into their kindergarten years, while allowing educators to build the curiosity, confidence, communication and independence developed during their early experiences.
Why Parents Trust E-Bridge as an Early Years Centre Operator
E-Bridge is one of three preschool operators appointed to deliver the MOE Kindergarten–Early Years Centre partnership for children from two months to four years old. Under this model, eligible children receive a place at a partner MOE Kindergarten, supporting a more continuous transition into their K1 and K2 years (and their primary school education).
E-Bridge is also an Anchor Operator appointed by the Early Childhood Development Agency, reflecting its role in making quality early childhood care and education more accessible to families. Across our Early Years Centres, educators facilitate inquiry-led experiences that encourage children to explore, communicate and collaborate. This consistent approach nurtures their curiosity, confidence and independence throughout the formative early years.
How Our Early Years Centre Programme Works
For Infants Aged 2 to 18 Months
Our infant care provides a calm, responsive learning environment where infants build secure relationships and explore through movement, sound, touch and interaction. Educators observe each child’s cues closely, respond to their individual needs and document meaningful developmental moments to help families stay connected with their progress.
For Children in Pre-Nursery and Nursery
From 18 months to four years, children take part in inquiry-led experiences shaped by their questions, interests and discoveries. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our learning environments encourage exploration with purposeful materials, while educators facilitate conversations that strengthen communication, collaboration and independent thinking. Our pre-nursery curriculum also supports children’s growing confidence across language, physical and social-emotional development.
Supporting the Transition to Kindergarten
As children approach the end of their Early Years Centre journey, educators help them develop the confidence, independence and communication skills needed for the next stage. Eligible children progress to the partner MOE Kindergarten through the EYC admission pathway, creating greater continuity between their early experiences and kindergarten. Families also receive guidance on the transition process so children feel secure and prepared for their new learning environment.
Two National Frameworks Guiding Your Child’s Early Years Journey
The Early Years Development Framework
The Early Years Development Framework guides educators working with children from birth to three years in centre-based childcare settings. It emphasises responsive relationships, purposeful experiences and the understanding that infants and toddlers are capable learners whose development is interconnected. At E-Bridge, these principles shape how educators observe, respond to and facilitate each child’s exploration and discovery.
The Nurturing Early Learners Framework
The Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework guides preschool curriculum for children aged four to six in Singapore. It supports holistic development across areas such as language and literacy, numeracy, discovery of the world, creative expression, motor development and social-emotional growth. As children progress from an E-Bridge Early Years Centre to a partner MOE Kindergarten, this shared emphasis supports greater continuity in their learning experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions About Early Years Centres in Singapore
Is my child guaranteed a K1 place after attending an Early Years Centre?
Eligible Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident children will be given priority for a K1 placement at a partner MOE Kindergarten if they are registered through the EYC admission process. The placement applies to the MOE Kindergarten partnered with the child’s EYC.
Can my child attend a different MOE Kindergarten from the one linked to the EYC?
Parents may apply to another MOE Kindergarten, but K1 placement applies only to the partner MOE Kindergarten linked to the child’s EYC. Admission to a non-partner MOE Kindergarten is handled through the applicable registration process and remains subject to eligibility, priority rules and available places.
What is the difference between an Early Years Centre and a regular childcare centre?
An Early Years Centre serves children from two months to four years old and is formally partnered with an MOE Kindergarten for their transition into K1. A regular childcare centre may provide programmes from infancy through K2 at the same location, depending on the centre. Both centre types must meet ECDA licensing requirements, but the MK-EYC partnership provides a defined progression pathway.
Is the curriculum at an E-Bridge EYC different from other E-Bridge centres?
E-Bridge EYCs follow the same child-centred, inquiry-based philosophy that guides learning across E-Bridge centres, while focusing specifically on children aged two months to four years. Experiences are informed by Singapore’s early childhood frameworks and inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, encouraging exploration, communication, collaboration and discovery.
Are Early Years Centres more expensive than other preschools?
Early Years Centre fees are not automatically higher than those at other preschools, as costs depend on the operator, programme, citizenship and applicable subsidies. E-Bridge is an ECDA-appointed Anchor Operator, and Singapore Citizen children may receive Basic and Additional Subsidies. Families should request the current fee schedule for their chosen programme and centre.
How do I enroll my child in an E-Bridge Early Years Centre?
You can enrol by registering your interest with E-Bridge and selecting your preferred centre, programme and commencement date. Enrolment remains open throughout the year and is subject to vacancy. E-Bridge will contact you as your child approaches the front of the enrolment queue.
What happens if my preferred Early Years Centre has no vacancies?
Your child will be placed on the waiting list if the preferred centre has no suitable vacancy. The admissions team will contact you when a place becomes available and may suggest nearby E-Bridge centres with openings. Families comparing options may explore E-Bridge’s preschool locations based on proximity, programme availability and preferred commencement date.
Can I register my unborn child for Infant Care at an E-Bridge EYC?
You may register interest for an unborn child when the expected delivery date is within three months of the registration date. Include the expected delivery date when submitting the form so the admissions team can process the request appropriately. Placement is still subject to programme availability and the intended commencement date.
