What Makes E-Bridge Pre-School Sumang Lane Unique?
Located in the heart of Punggol, E-Bridge Pre-School Sumang Lane is a nurturing and vibrant learning community that supports children from 2 months to 6 years of age. Rooted in inquiry, nature, and relationships, our centre offers a holistic and meaningful early years experience where every child is encouraged to wonder, explore and grow.
Spacious, Nature-Connected Learning Environment
Situated on a level 2 landscaped deck, our centre features an open field and ample outdoor space that supports children’s physical development and sense of wonder. Whether it’s for gross motor play, nature walks, or sensory exploration, the outdoors is an integral part of our daily experiences. The children spend an hour outdoors daily.
Our classrooms are thoughtfully spread across different bays to cater to the developmental needs of each age group. Bays at 227A and 227B house our Infant Care, Pre-Nursery and Nursery 1 classes, providing a warm and nurturing environment for our youngest learners. Our main bay at 226A/B is home to the older children in Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1, and Kindergarten 2, where the spaces are designed to foster independence, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Reggio-Inspired, Child-Led Learning
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our curriculum respects and celebrates children as capable, curious, and full of potential. Learning emerges from children’s questions and interests, supported by educators who listen closely and plan intentionally. Projects, provocations, and hands-on experiences are designed to extend thinking and spark creativity in every child.
Every classroom is bathed in natural light, with large windows that face the surrounding greenery, creating a warm and calming atmosphere that enhances children’s connection to the natural world. Across our centre, learning spaces are filled with open-ended materials, and intentional layouts to encourage exploration, problem-solving, and expression through the ‘100 Languages’ of children — from art and music to storytelling and construction.
Bringing the World Into the Classroom
As part of our belief that children learn best through real-life and meaningful experiences, we create opportunities for them to connect with the wider community. This includes visits from people in different professions, activities with seniors, learning with community partners, and even upkeeping a community garden. These experiences help children understand the world around them, learn to care for others, and see themselves as valued members of their community.
Strong Family Partnerships
We believe that a child’s development is best supported through strong, respectful partnerships with families. At Sumang Lane, family engagement is embedded into the rhythm of school life. We host termly parent workshops to share strategies and insights on early childhood development, termly in-class parental involvement experiences that invite parents into their child’s learning environment, and school-wide events and celebrations that build community and connection. Whether through storytelling, cooking, project work or festive occasions, parents are active partners in the journey of learning.
Immersive Bilingual Programme
Children are immersed in both English and Mandarin daily, fostering strong language foundations and cultural appreciation. Our bilingual educators work side-by-side to create a language-rich environment, where both languages are naturally integrated into play, conversation and learning experiences.
To support our diverse community, we also offer daily Malay and Tamil language classes for children in Nursery 2 to Kindergarten 2. These dedicated one-hour sessions promote cultural appreciation and language development in an engaging and age-appropriate way, helping children build strong multilingual foundations.
Educators Who Inspire and Nurture
Our team of passionate, reflective and highly qualified educators bring dedication and intentionality to every aspect of the classroom. With access to ongoing professional development and support from curriculum specialists, our teachers are equipped to deliver meaningful learning rooted in respect, care and inquiry.
Learning Stories

Learning Story: Exploring the Language of Fabric
The children explored how the world works through the Language of Fabric. Using a variety of fabrics, natural materials, and loose parts, they investigated patterns, textures, and sounds. Outdoors, they created imaginative scenes and stories, then continued their inquiry through mark-making with leaves and flowers on cloth.
In the classroom, digital microscopes sparked curiosity as children examined fabric weaves up close. Inspired, they experimented with weaving and stitching techniques like the whip stitch. Through sensory exploration, technology, and creativity, the children expressed their ideas and deepened their understanding of fabric’s many possibilities.

E-bridge has helped ease my concerns on my daughter’s social being before she joins in. The staff are friendly, polite and always keep me updated on my daughter’s progress. Whenever there is an issue to be addressed, staff will be more than willing to help.
My daughter is able to communicate with me better, thanks to the things she has learned with E-bridge. She looks forward to school everyday.
Thank you to E-Bridge @ Matilda for doing your best in nurturing the children under your care.
