The Infant Care curriculum at E-Bridge emphasises the importance of relationships for children 2 to 18 months of age, many of whom are first-timers in a pre-school environment. Our nurturing and dedicated educarers are committed to provide a safe, secure and sensorial environment for the development of emotional security, self-help and physical skills in our very young learners.
The Pre-Nursery curriculum focuses on the development of independence, autonomy and social awareness for beginning learners, 18 months to 2 years of age, through opportunities for hands-on experiences, exploring their environment and expressing themselves through various means e.g. drawing, interacting, communicating. Preliminary pre-literacy skills are encouraged through explorations with drawing and writing materials, songs and music & movement, reading experiences as well as outdoor play.
The Nursery 1 curriculum progressively increases communication skills development through the expression of ideas, thoughts and feelings for children ages 2 to 3 years. Children are encouraged to engage in drawing, preliminary writing, sharing through verbal communication, physical explorations as well as investigative explorations. Children engage in transitory experiences in gaining greater independence in self-help and social skills.
The Nursery 2 curriculum exposes children 3 to 4 years of age to more language and literacy, numeracy and exploratory experiences as they prepare for their kindergarten years. Learning is integrated through the inquiry process and hands-on as well as project experiences. Basic pre-literacy skills are introduced as guided by the Ministry of Education’s Kindergarten Curriculum Framework.
The Kindergarten 1 curriculum reinforces language and literacy, numeracy and Chinese learning for children ages 4 to 5. Learning experiences will integrate a greater emphasis on academic knowledge acquisition together with social independence and dispositions toward learning. Literacy skills are reinforced through opportunities for reading, writing and communicating ideas, thoughts and feelings. Social interaction forms an innate part of the curriculum through community engagement and peer interaction.
The inquiry process at the kindergarten 2 level for children ages 5 to 6 years will have a greater emphasis on Language & Literacy, Numeracy and Chinese. While the other areas of learning will continue to be integrated in the learning experiences, the curriculum will focus on children’s transition to primary one and will be closely aligned with the learning goals recommended by the Ministry of Education’s Curriculum Framework for Kindergartens. Children’s transition to primary one is supported with exposure to the primary one curriculum through primary school visits.
